Watercolour landforms Tutor: Charlotte Hird Date: Saturday 17 September 2022, 9am - 4pm Cost: $45 for Mana Art Society members or $75 for non-members
This workshop is suitable for students who have experience with watercolour painting. Extend your watercolour skills with exercises to paint landforms. You will use these techniques to produce two paintings to take home.

Workshop outline Do you want to learn to paint those beautiful hills around the Pāuatahanui harbour? Explore different techniques to capture the many moods of light on the hills. We will refresh and extend your technical knowledge of watercolour materials and techniques. There will be practice exercises followed by a guided step by step process to produce two paintings.
By the end of the day you will be able to: •use a variety of washes and edges in your paintings •use wet into wet techniques •achieve spatial depth in your landform paintings.
Charlotte uses an overhead camera projected onto a 42 inch TV for easy to follow demonstrating and social distancing. Class limit of 14. Six hours of class time: 9am -12pm followed by a one hour lunch then 1pm - 4pm. Students please bring your brushes, palette, paints and 6 sheets of A4 300gsm.
